Yacy is a free and open-source search engine that you can install on your Windows 11 computer. Here's how to do it:
First, go to the Yacy website at https://yacy.net/en/index.html and click on the "Download" tab at the top of the page. Then, scroll down to the "Download the latest Yacy release" section and click on the link for the Windows installer.
Once the installer has finished downloading, double-click on the file to run it. You may be asked to confirm that you want to allow the installer to make changes to your system. Click "Yes" to proceed.
After the installer has finished setting up the software, Yacy will automatically launch in your default web browser. You will be prompted to configure the search engine's settings, such as the number of search results to display and the languages to search.
You can also choose to set up Yacy as a permanent search engine in your browser by following the instructions provided on the screen.
Once you've finished configuring Yacy to your liking, you can begin using the search engine by entering your search queries into the search bar. Yacy will return search results based on your query, so you can browse through the pages and find the information you need.
Congratulations! You have now successfully installed and configured Yacy on your Windows 11 computer.
