How to Install Piqueserver on Windows 11

Piqueserver is a Minecraft-compatible game server written in Python that allows players to create and join games with custom maps and game modes. Here's how you can install Piqueserver on your Windows 11 machine.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

Installation Steps

  1. Open Command Prompt by pressing Windows Key+R and typing cmd. Press Enter.

  2. In the Command Prompt, type the following command to install Piqueserver using pip:

    pip install piqueserver

Wait for the installation to complete.

  3. Once the installation is complete, type the following command to start the server:

    piqueserver

This will start the Piqueserver and display the server logs on the command prompt.

  4. Optionally, you can also customize the server by tweaking the server configuration file, config.yaml. This file can be found in the folder where the Piqueserver was installed.

Here are a few useful settings that you can tweak:

    • port: The port on which the server will listen for incoming connections.
    • default_map: The name of the default map that will be loaded when the server starts.
    • max_players: The maximum number of players that can join the server.

Save the file after making changes.

  5. To connect to the server, open Minecraft and click on "Multiplayer". Then click "Add Server" and enter the server's IP address and port number.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed Piqueserver on your Windows 11 machine.

If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
