Fenrus is an open-source malware analysis platform that can be used to analyze and detect malware on a system. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing the Fenrus platform on macOS using the command line.
Before we begin, you will need the following:
The first step is to clone the Fenrus repository from GitHub using the following command:
git clone https://github.com/revenz/fenrus.git
This will create a directory called fenrus
in your current working directory, which you will use to install Fenrus.
Next, navigate into the Fenrus directory using the following command:
cd fenrus
We need to install the dependencies for Fenrus using the following command:
pip3 install -r requirements.txt
Fenrus requires Redis, an in-memory data structure store, to run. Install Redis using the following command:
brew install redis
After installation, start Redis using brew services
:
brew services start redis
To start Fenrus, run the following command in the fenrus
directory:
python3 app.py
This should start the web server, and you should be able to access Fenrus in a web browser by typing http://localhost:5000
in the address bar.
You have successfully installed Fenrus on macOS. Now you can use it to analyze and detect malware on your system.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
