HumHub is a free and open-source social network software that lets individuals and organizations create their social networks. This tutorial will guide you through the process of installing HumHub on macOS.
Make sure that the XAMPP server is installed on your macOS system. If you haven't installed it yet, you can download it from https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html and install it by following the installation guide.
Follow the steps below to install HumHub on macOS:
Visit https://www.humhub.org/ and download the latest version of HumHub.
Extract the downloaded HumHub archive file.
Navigate to the XAMPP server directory, then go to the 'htdocs' folder and create a new folder named "humhub".
Copy all the files and folders from the extracted HumHub archive into the "humhub" folder that we created in step 3.
Launch XAMPP server and start the Apache and MySQL modules.
Open your web browser and navigate to http://localhost/phpmyadmin/
Create a new database for HumHub. Enter the database name in the "Create database" field and click on the "Create" button.
In your web browser, go to http://localhost/humhub/ .The HumHub installer page will be displayed.
Follow the HumHub installation wizard by selecting your language and clicking on the "Next" button.
On the "Database Configuration" page, set the database name, database username, and database password that you entered earlier in step 7. Leave the "Database Host" and "Database Port" fields as they are, and then click on the "Next" button.
On the "Application Configuration" page, enter the Site Name and Administrator email and password, and then click on the "Next" button.
On the "Email Configuration" page, configure your email settings, or you can skip this step and configure it later.
On the "Ready to Install" page, review your configuration settings, and then click on the "Install" button.
Wait for the installation process to complete.
Once the installation is complete, login using the administrator account that you created in step 11.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed HumHub on your macOS system!
