Lidarr is a music collection management tool that allows you to automatically download new music. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Lidarr on macOS.
Prerequisites
- A macOS computer
- Admin access for installing software
- Homebrew package manager installed
Step 1: Install Mono Framework
Lidarr is built on the Mono framework, which provides an open-source implementation of the .NET Framework. Follow these steps to install Mono:
- Open Terminal on your macOS computer.
- Install Homebrew by running this command in Terminal:
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
- Once Homebrew is installed, run this command in Terminal:
brew install mono
Step 2: Download Lidarr
- Open the Lidarr download page.
- Click on the macOS icon to start the download process.
- Once the download is complete, you should see the Lidarr.dmg file in your Downloads folder.
Step 3: Install Lidarr
- Double-click on the Lidarr.dmg file to mount the disk image.
- Drag the Lidarr.app file to your Applications folder.
- Double-click on the Lidarr.app to launch Lidarr.
Step 4: Configure Lidarr
- Once Lidarr is launched, you should see the Lidarr web interface in your default web browser. If not, you can access Lidarr by going to http://localhost:8686 in your web browser.
- Follow the set-up wizard to configure Lidarr.
