MeTube is a media sharing platform that allows users to upload, view, and share videos. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing MeTube on macOS.
Before we begin, make sure your macOS system meets the following requirements:
Open the terminal application on macOS by typing "Terminal" in the spotlight search or by navigating to the Applications folder and then to the Utilities folder. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Command + Spacebar
to open spotlight search and then type "Terminal" and hit enter.
Install the necessary components by running the following command in Terminal:
brew install node
This will install Node.js, a JavaScript runtime environment, which is required for running MeTube.
Next, clone the MeTube repository from GitHub by running the following command in Terminal:
git clone https://github.com/alexta69/metube.git
This will create a new folder called metube
on your system.
Navigate to the metube
folder by running the following command in Terminal:
cd metube
Install the required dependencies by running the following command in Terminal:
npm install
Start the MeTube server by running the following command in Terminal:
npm start
This will start the server and you should see output in the Terminal indicating that the server is running and listening on a port number.
Open your web browser and go to http://localhost:3000/
to access MeTube.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed MeTube on your macOS system. You can now upload, view, and share videos with others.
