Navidrome is an open-source music server that can be used to stream all your music. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Navidrome on your macOS computer.
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
If you don't have Homebrew installed, open the Terminal app on your Mac and paste the following command:
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
This command will download and install Homebrew on your Mac.
Once Homebrew is installed, open the Terminal app and execute the following command to install Navidrome:
brew install navidrome
This command will install Navidrome and all its dependencies.
After installing Navidrome, you can start the server using the following command:
navidrome
This will start the Navidrome server, and you should see output similar to the following:
INFO[0000] Starting Navidrome server, version 0.46.0
INFO[0000] Loaded Configuration file from "/Users/your-username/.config/navidrome/config.toml"
INFO[0000] SQLite3 database file located at "/Users/your-username/.config/navidrome/navidrome.db"
INFO[0000] Listening on http://localhost:4533
Now that Navidrome is running, open your web browser and go to http://localhost:4533. This will take you to the Navidrome homepage where you can log in, set up your library, and start streaming your music.
