Prerequisites
Before starting with the installation process, make sure your system meets the following requirements:

Step 1: Install XAMPP
To run Open Source POS on macOS, you need to install XAMPP, a software package that includes Apache, PHP, and MySQL.

- Download the latest version of XAMPP for macOS.
- Run the installer by double-clicking on the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions.
Step 2: Download Open Source POS

Step 3: Move Open Source POS files to XAMPP directory

- In the XAMPP directory, go to the
htdocs
folder.
- Move the extracted Open Source POS files to the
htdocs
folder.
Step 4: Create a MySQL database
- Open a web browser and navigate to
http://localhost/phpmyadmin
.
- Click on the "Databases" tab.
- In the "Create database" field, enter a name for the database, e.g., "open_source_pos."
- Click on the "Create" button to create the database.
Step 5: Configure Open Source POS
- Open your browser and navigate to
http://localhost/opensourcepos
.
- Click on the "install" button to start the installation process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and enter the necessary information, such as the database name, username, and password.
- Complete the installation process.
Step 6: Log in to Open Source POS
- Open your browser and navigate to
http://localhost/opensourcepos
.
- Enter the username and password you created during the installation process to log in to Open Source POS.
