Openmeetings is an open-source video conferencing software that can be used for webinars, online meetings, and collaboration. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to install Openmeetings on macOS.
Before we begin, please ensure that you have the following requirements:
Visit the Openmeetings website https://openmeetings.apache.org/index.html and click on the "download" button located on the top right corner of the page. It will take you to the download page. Select the version of Openmeetings that you want to download.
Once you select the version of Openmeetings you want to download, the download should start automatically.
You need to have Apache Tomcat installed on your system to run Openmeetings. If you do not have Apache Tomcat installed, please follow the steps below to install Apache Tomcat:
Once you have Apache Tomcat running, navigate to the Openmeetings download location.
Extract the downloaded zip file to your preferred location.
Navigate to the bin directory of the Openmeetings installation folder.
Open the terminal and run the following command to start the Openmeetings installation script:
sudo ./red5.sh
You will be prompted to enter your administrator password. Enter your password and hit enter.
The installation process will begin. Please wait for it to complete.
Once the installation is complete, Openmeetings will be accessible at:
http://localhost:5080/openmeetings
Open a web browser and navigate to the Openmeetings URL mentioned above. You will be redirected to the Openmeetings login page. If this is your first time opening Openmeetings, create a new user account by clicking on the "Register" button.
After registering, you will be redirected to the Openmeetings dashboard, where you can create and join meetings, invite participants, and collaborate with others.
Congratulations, you have successfully installed Openmeetings on your macOS computer. You can now host webinars, conduct online meetings, and collaborate with others right from your computer.
