How to Install Quassel IRC on macOS

This tutorial will help you install Quassel IRC on your macOS device. Quassel IRC is a modern, cross-platform, distributed IRC client, meaning that one or multiple clients can connect to and detach from a central core.

  1. Open your web browser and go to https://quassel-irc.org/
  2. Click on "Download" in the top menu bar and then click on "macOS" under "Community Builds".
  3. On the next page, select the latest version of Quassel IRC for macOS by clicking on the "Download" button.
  4. After the download is complete, open the downloaded file.
  5. Drag and drop the Quassel IRC icon onto the Applications folder icon to install it.
  6. Once the installation is complete, go to your Applications folder and double-click on the Quassel IRC app.
  7. The first time you open Quassel IRC, you will be asked to configure your client. Fill in the required fields, such as your username and the hostname and port of the IRC network you want to connect to.
  8. Click on "Connect" and you should be connected to the IRC network.
