RSS Fulltext Proxy is a tool that enables you to fetch the full content of articles from RSS feeds, rather than just the summary, which can be very useful. Here's how to install it on macOS.
If you don't already have Homebrew installed, run the following command in the terminal:
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
This will install Homebrew on your Mac.
Next, you need to install Node.js. Run the following command in the terminal:
brew install node
This will install Node.js on your Mac.
Download the latest release of RSS Fulltext Proxy by going to the GitHub repository and downloading the .zip
file for the latest release.
Once downloaded, extract the contents of the .zip
file to a directory of your choice.
Open Terminal and navigate to the directory where you extracted the contents of the .zip
file. Once you're there, run the following command to install the dependencies:
npm install
Copy the configuration file by running the following command in Terminal:
cp config.example.js config.js
Then, open the config.js
file in your preferred text editor and configure the settings according to your needs.
Start RSS Fulltext Proxy by running the following command in Terminal:
npm run start
RSS Fulltext Proxy should now be up and running, and you can access it by going to http://localhost:3000
in your web browser.
That's it! You have now successfully installed RSS Fulltext Proxy on macOS. You can now use it to fetch the full content of articles from your RSS feeds.
