SiteInspector is a user-friendly web-based tool that can be used to check website security and help you find vulnerabilities on your website. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install SiteInspector on macOS.
Prerequisites
- macOS device
- Chrome browser installed
- Stable internet connection
Step 1: Download and Install Chrome Extension
- Visit https://www.getsiteinspector.com/ and click on the "Install Chrome Extension" button on the homepage.
- This will redirect you to the Chrome Web Store page.
- Click on the "Add to Chrome" button.
- You will be prompted to confirm the add-on installation, click on "Add extension".
- The SiteInspector extension will now appear in your Chrome toolbar.
Step 2: Create a SiteInspector Account
- Return to the https://www.getsiteinspector.com/ homepage.
- Click on the "Sign Up" button at the top right corner of the page.
- Fill in your email address and password in the fields provided and click on "Create Account".
- A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided.
- Open the email and click on the "Verify Email Address" button.
Step 3: Login to SiteInspector
- Go back to the SiteInspector homepage.
- Click on the "Log In" button at the top right corner of the page.
- Enter your registered email address and password in the fields provided and click on "Log In".
- You will be redirected to your SiteInspector dashboard.
Step 4: Start Using SiteInspector
- Open the website you want to inspect in a Chrome browser window.
- Click on the SiteInspector extension icon in the toolbar, and click on "Start Inspection" button.
- Wait for SiteInspector to analyze the website.
- You will be presented with a report and suggestions on how to improve the security of the website.
