Zenphoto is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) for creating online galleries and portfolios. Installing Zenphoto on macOS is easy and can be done in just a few simple steps.
Before you begin, ensure that you have the following:
The first step is to download the latest version of Zenphoto from the official website https://www.zenphoto.org/. Once you have downloaded the package, extract the files to your computer.
Next, create a directory that will store your Zenphoto installation files. Open Terminal and type the following command:
cd /path/to/your/webserver/public_html
Replace /path/to/your/webserver/public_html
with the path to the directory where your web server stores its files.
To create a new directory, enter the following command:
mkdir zenphoto
This will create a new folder called zenphoto
.
Copy the extracted Zenphoto files to the zenphoto
directory. You can do this by dragging and dropping the files into the directory or by using Terminal. To use Terminal, type the following command:
cp -R /path/to/extracted/files/* /path/to/your/webserver/public_html/zenphoto/
Replace /path/to/extracted/files/*
with the path to the extracted Zenphoto files, and /path/to/your/webserver/public_html/zenphoto/
with the path to the zenphoto
directory you created in the previous step.
Open a web browser and navigate to http://localhost/zenphoto/zp-core/setup.php
to start the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure Zenphoto. Make sure to enter the correct details such as your database name, username, and password.
After the installation process is complete, you will see a message confirming that Zenphoto has been installed successfully.
That's it! You have successfully installed Zenphoto on your macOS computer. From here, you can start uploading images to your galleries and customizing your website to your liking.
