Darcs is a source code management tool that allows users to keep track of changes made to their codebase. In this tutorial, we will be installing Darcs on the latest version of NixOS.
Before installing any new software, it's always a good idea to update your system to ensure you have the latest version of all packages. To do this, open up your terminal and type:
sudo nixos-rebuild switch
This command will update your system to the latest version of NixOS.
Now that our system is updated, let's go ahead and install Darcs. To do this, we will use the nix-env command. Open up your terminal and type:
sudo nix-env -i darcs
This command will install Darcs on your system.
To verify that Darcs has been installed correctly, open up your terminal and type:
darcs --version
This command will display the current version of Darcs that is installed on your system.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Darcs on the latest version of NixOS.
